No weather event can surprise you if you have your weather apps with you, which can inform you promptly and accurately about imminent weather phenomena.

The time that we used to look at the sky, the shape of the clouds and the birds’ flying patterns to figure out what the weather will be, has fortunately passed. Nowadays, we have apps on our mobile devices, using data from local weather stations in order to inform us in real time about the weather conditions and give our forecast even for several days ahead.

So, whether you are hiking in the mountain or sailing in the sea, or simply want to go by bike to work and you suspect that the rain will spoil your plans, just consult one of the following applications:

1. Accuweather (Free & Paid)

If there is a storm or another extreme weather phenomenon is coming, it will alert you with push notifications. It supports multiple locations, adjustable forecasting time interval, can inform about radiation levels, humidity, visibility, wind speed, etc.

I wish Meteoblue had an Android app as well. It is available for iOS at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/meteoblue/id994459137?mt=8.

Update: Meteoblue is now available for Android at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meteoblue.droid&hl=en.

I also use Viewweather http://www.viewweather.com/ with a homescreen shortcut on my Android.
